Omar Shehata will talk about what Cesium is, some of the interesting technical challenges that it solves to get these things working on the web and how to get started using it in your next project (with React). The goal being, if you're a web developer, who might encounter a project that involves visualizing 3D data on the web, this talk will give you a practical idea of how to go about doing that.
Omar is a graphics programmer at Cesium working on open source, web-based 3D maps. He deeply believes in the value of an open, accessible web. As a kid growing up in Alexandria, Egypt, websites like Newgrounds gave him a chance to collaborate with people from all over the world and reach audiences of millions with his Flash games. It didn’t matter how old you were, or where you’re from. Their motto was “Everything by Everyone”. You can check out all his stuff on his personal website - http://omarshehata.me/
